Shannon + James ::: Siesta Key, FL.

You may not be her first, her last, or her only.
She loved before, she may love again. But if she loves you now,
what else matters?
She’s not perfect – you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break – her heart.
So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her
when she’s not there.
-Bob Marley, (from the ceremony)

After hanging up the phone with Shannon and James I knew that I not only wanted to be their wedding photographer, but that I wanted to be their friend. Shannon and James are perfect examples of living and loving life. As if growing up most of their lives in Sarasota, FL. wasn't vacation enough, they've spent the last two years in Puerto Rico teaching yoga, working on a tourist snorkel boat, and surfing. They are care free in the most beautiful, free-spirited way. And in the 4 short hours I spent with them on their wedding day I witnessed more love and emotion than any wedding I'd been to before. The theme for the day was "Live in Love," which could also be found tattooed on both of their arms. I'd say it's safe to say those three words defined the night, and quite frankly their life.

Shannon and James got married on the beach at Siesta Key on an extremely cloudy, Fall day. She wore her grandma's pearls and he wore the sweetest smile. And just as the guest were about to toss sea glass into the ocean, along with happy wishes, the sky turned from the greyest of grey to the most neon of all neon skies. It was the perfect end to a heartfelt ceremony and the perfect prelude to an awesome beach-side party.

I have felt very lackluster lately. The job I finished up this week drained me of all my post-sick energy. And the 150 children I encountered came bearing germs that my weakened immune system apparently wasn't ready to handle. I found myself up several times Wednesday night with an awful sore throat followed by a few days of cold symptoms, Zicam lozenges, and lots and lots of vitamins. So, I apologize in advance for the large amount of Daphnie photos, particularly Daphnie photos that involve her laying around like a bum. There's been a lot of cuddling and resting in the King household. I slept until 1:00pm on Friday. Normally I'd be ashamed to admit such a thing, but not this time. Not when my body obviously needed it. And boy did it feel gooooooood. That combined with a glass of medicinal liquor (Fernet) I sipped on at a moonshine party this weekend were the cures I needed to get my body back to normalcy.  Now that the weather is hinting little resemblances to springtime, I can't wait to start running again and doing yoga like a normal, healthy person. My body and mind could use a little refreshing. I hope everyone had a wonderful week! Now, off to yoga class I go!
